  "Trinitarians" how can you "lie" to the truth? Is truth a person?

  i was talking to this jw's elder who i believe has to be the best debater against the "trinity" doctrine that jw's have he brought up several point which i feel needs to be addressed by trinitarians.

  first of all he argured that acts 5:3-4 about lying to the holy spirit in no way makes the holy spirit a person any more that "lying to the truth" in james makes "truth" a person.

  i have never seen that verse before about lying to the truth.

  I am not personally into labels, although I do agree with the discription of the Godhead that the Trinity allows. Trinitarians do not believe the the Holy Ghost/Spirit is merely a person.

  ...she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Mt. 1:18 Do Trinitarians believe God came down and had sex with Mary? No.

  ...he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost... Mt 3:11 Do Trinitarians believe that we would be baptised with a person with us? No. The Spirit of God (presence of), yes. Active force no.

  St Augustine "In no other subject is the danger of erring so great, or the progress so difficult, or the fruit of a careful study so appreciable".

  CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: Holy Ghost

  I am not Catholic but they have kept and preserved church writings and history. There is no evidence that the Holy Ghost is some kind of Star Wars active force. If every instance it was spoken of as being a "force" that would be evident.

  For David himself said by the Holy Ghost...Mr 12:36 ...As if he was possesed by God. An active force has no mind nor could it posses a man.

  ...for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. Mr 13:11 Possesion again.

  Joh 14:26 But the Comforter...this passage calls the Holy Ghost many things, teacher etc...the thing is that God is more than the Watchtower wants Him to be. He loves more, forgives more, is smarter than, in control of much more than they give God credit for.

  They continually assault the Godhead so they can place themselves in His place. The Holy Ghost is God, can posses a person, can be everywhere at once, is God, is a person but not like a human.

  ...and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia Acts 16:6 How could an active force without a mind do that?

  Acts 20:28 is one of my favorite verses. It shows the blood of Christ as being God's own blood, and the Holy Spirit putting them in where they were.

  Patti Smith XJW inducted into Music Hall of Fame!

  this afternoon i heard on national public radio that poet/songwriter patti smith will be inducted into the musical hall of fame later this week.

  an interview with terri gross from 1996 detailed her early life as a jehovah's witness.

  she spoke respectfully of the jws and her memory of her mother and father and early family life, but spoke candidly that she did not like the teachings and restrictions and never felt she fit in.

  Wow I had no idea she had any JW in her background. I listened to her in the late 1970's when I was homeless after mom refused blood and some California hippys took me in. They were musicians and introduced me to a whole new world.

  Back then her music was a bit dark as I vaguely recall, now I know where that came from. Does anyone have access to her lyrics from the 70's?

  Simple life, which is better?

  is living a simple life without debt or very little better than trying to have it all and having it now?.

  i see this all the time in my line of work and the toll it takes on people, marriages and families.

  I too went through something similar and ended up in 1998, with bills, homeless, broke, disabled and had my car repossesed. My ex filed electonically and spent my tax return on his back taxes without my permission, and even my (not his) my children's SSI money that I didn't even know I was getting for several months.

  It took me several years to get back on my feet with God's blessings. My home was my first sancuary from the storms of life and all the hungry wolves. It is a small cabin/house on some acreage in an area that nobody was intersted in at the time. It has since quadrupled in value.

  After that I did not even date for 6 years. When I did meet someone and remarry I kept my own name, my own accounts, and refuse to comingle anything. He bought into ownership in my home by paying off a chunk on the mortgage, but his name is not on it.

  So far he has added to the value by building on but has an issue finishing what he starts so I have to remind him. He would have debt but I learned the hard way when he says it's ok I'll pay it off next month that it really means, I'll not pay it off next month and I'll give you as many excuses as I think you will need.

  Dept free and my ranch is nearly paid off wooohooo! I'd much rather live a simple life.

  I am thinking I need to save up some money to get some anti wrinkle work done in the future. Vanity vanity vanity...

  Things you find in a womens purse??

  i always tell my wife that her pocket books is nothing but a $200 garbage bag, what are some things found in a women's purse, what are some items that you find in women's purses.. interesting things or common things??.

  Well Xena not sure what kind of freak that makes me

  I carry a ...a..it is like a briefcase made out of canvas. It has a wide adjustable strap that I wear around my neck to the side. Mossimo makes it probably for students. It has 9 compartments. LOL this is too funny...ok it has;

  sunscreen 50, large address book, small Bible, pump bottle of Germ X, boxed wooden matches, bandanas, tape measure, composition notebook, little paper that says "Are You in the Truth" with 1 John 5:20 and 2 Cor 13:5, a church bulletin, a few assorted bulletins and flyers, little wallet from Guatamala with a few cards and a few bucks, Leatherman (like a Swiss Army Knife with pliers), my business cards, some other's business cards, lipstick and lipgloss with sunscreen, babywipes in a baggie, box of Sherman menthols (I don't smoke), a sharpie and pens, bottle of spray sunscrean, gum, bottle of water, a vegan snack (looks like jerky), and I use these items almost everyday!

  we've learned to frisk our cats before they come in, esp.

  they have a thing for bringing home their live catches to play with.. also, when they get all smoochy.

  My bird copies the microwave beeping noise.

  It was cute at first, but now it's just annoying.

  My African Senegal parrot Louie makes every house squeeking noise. He doesn't use his indoor voice either and hollars "hellooooo hallooooo heeeeeeeeelloooooooo" at 5 am. The dogs when they roll in and eat horse poop then wanna luv on me. My horse when he decides he is not in the mood to be; brushed, ridden, caught, shoed...

  parents jailed for sadistic abuse thursday february 8, 04:53 pm.

  a sadistic couple have been jailed for a total of 22 years for the abuse of their three-year-old disabled daughter.

  middlesex guildhall crown court heard they forced her to sleep naked in a locked toilet during a catalogue of "revolting cruelty".

  That is too painful to read. So much pain. Poor little angel.

  Children, the elderly and animals are perfect victims for evil people. I walked into my friends room at the nursing home yesterday and found her in distress unable to breath. Someone had deliberately disconnected her oxygen from the wall connection. She had been threatened for "pushing her call button too many times."

  They do not do criminal background checks.

  I contacted her family and told them "look, this is attempted murder it needs to reported it as such"

  Has anyone ever adopted a village or driven a truck of supplies overseas?

  my friend and i are mulling over the idea of doing something like this and yet we are so naive and know so little about the practicalities of such an exercise that we don't even know if we have the capacity to do this.

  has anyone ever done anything like this and would share what was involved?

  if its too scary i'll just donate toys to the hospital..

  The way charitable programs get started is "the need." Look at the world, your country of birth, and look at where the greatest need is; AID's, hunger, education, homeless children, etc.

  Then you play with the ideas in your head. Dream. Don't even allow yourself to think "I Can't." Once you get going you may be amazed at how the ball gets rolling and grows. Being a leader merely means you have the guts to fearlessly try something with wild abandon.

  The charity I started late last year is growing fast and will be merging with another nationally recognized faith based coalition that I didn't know much about before this. It is backed locally by 20 interfaith churches.

  But that is how this one has grown. There are all sorts of ways to make a difference. I was just looking at The Gap's websites and the Go Red AID's Africa project.

  Hooking up with an established 501C3 is the easiest way to get started, that doesn't mean that it will not be your very own project. Many charities are happy to expand thier outreaches with someone willing to take the lead.
